A plain commercial service entrance sits beneath a practical security light after the surrounding street has gone quiet. A painted metal door, concrete wall, conduits, utility hardware, drainpipe and pavement form an ordinary piece of the city's backstage. The only deliberate trace is a small maintenance label.
The Service Door is the seventh observation from LarkSpire — The Night Archive. It looks at the overlooked infrastructure behind everyday commercial spaces: functional, quiet and rarely noticed once the business has closed.
The observation is built around a simple mechanism: light reveals the city's backstage. The practical security light exposes the materials, hardware and maintenance label while the surrounding environment falls away into darkness.

THE PRINT
The artwork preserves the service-door architecture, practical security lighting, material realism and maintenance label that define the observation. The surrounding environment dissolves naturally into the Olive Green garment rather than being treated as a separate poster or framed scene.
The composition is deliberately restrained — no decorative treatment, no cinematic effect. The service entrance remains an ordinary nighttime observation, with the maintenance label serving as its small visual trace.
